Abishek brings over 16 years of experience in clean energy, energy access, and decarbonization across emerging markets. As Co-founder and Chief Technology & Operations Officer at Equatorial Power, he leads technology strategy, project execution, and operations to deploy decentralized renewable energy solutions across East Africa.
He has extensive experience in scaling off-grid infrastructure, including solar mini-grids, distributed energy systems, and productive-use energy hubs that drive local economic development. He has also led electric mobility deployments and played a key role in structuring and securing over USD 12 million in financing through partnerships with global investors and development institutions.
Previously, Abishek worked with organizations such as Mercy Corps and Energy 4 Impact, advising energy enterprises and leading donor-funded programs focused on renewable energy adoption, SME growth, and climate transition. His earlier experience includes roles in rural electrification and sustainability consulting across India and Africa.
Abishek brings expertise in energy transition strategy, renewable deployment, investment structuring, and stakeholder engagement. He is passionate about using clean energy to enable inclusive growth and climate resilience.
Abishek holds a Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Energy Science, Technology & Policy.
