Aparna Dua

Aparna is a Director at The Blended Finance Company. Before setting up TBFC, Aparna led the think tank at Asha Impact where she was instrumental in setting up the organisation’s blended finance work including designing India’s first Social Impact Bond and other structures in livelihoods. Under her leadership, Asha has been recognised as a leading voice for outcomes-based financing (OBF), having facilitated dialogues on the Social Stock Exchange, and advocacy for CSR funds for OBF alongside UNDP, USAID and other industry bodies. She has co-authored reports on impact investing and blended finance in India and has been an advocate to crowd in more capital for blended finance. Aparna served as a consultant to the Delhi Government for setting up the state’s Skilling and Entrepreneurship University. She also helped establish Innovation Mission Punjab, a PPP with the Punjab Government to support the development of an entrepreneurship ecosystem.


Previously, Aparna was at the Boston Consulting Group where she worked across sectors to improve development outcomes, most notably in education. She was previously with India Today’s education think tank leading a team of trainers to enhance teacher training. She is part of the Advisory Council at the Centre for Innovative Finance at ISDM and on the Investment Committee for the Startup India Seed Fund Committee at the Indian School of Business. She was part of the Impact Investors Council (IIC) committee on Blended Finance, an industry association of impact funds in India and served as the co-chair of the ANDE India Lab on SGB Finance.


Aparna started her career on Wall Street as an investment banker at Credit Suisse. She holds an MBA from INSEAD, and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Carleton College.
